For those of you with a keen interest in historic Adelaide (or just want a short trip down memory lane) we have put togeather a collection of historic photographs of various streets and sights of Adelaide.

Also well worth noteing is that the National Library of Australia has a huge collection of fully searchable historic South Australian newspapers from 1836 - 1954. Best of all it's absolutely free to browse, download and print hundreds of old newspapers. Their main Trove Australia index also contain historic newspapers, photo's and more from all around Australia with links into the various state library collections. So for those with an interest in the living history of Adelaide and Australia in general it is well worth a good browse.
Here are links to a few interesting editions:
South Australian Gazette and Colonial Register - Volume 1, No. 1. - This was the first edition of the first dedicated South Australian newspaper. This first issue was actually published in London on 18th June 1836. Subsequent issues were published in Adelaide, however the second issue was not published until 3rd June 1837, nearly a year later.
The Advetiser - 20/11/1933 - Article on the first ever John Martin's christmas pageant which took place on Saturday 18th November 1933. After the closure of the John Martins retail chain, the annual event found new sponsors and has since become known as the Credit Union Chritmas Pageant.
